The Office of the Auditor General of Norway is chairing the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing. The new, temporary website is now up and running.

The Office of the Auditor General submitted a new document to the Storting on Tuesday, 1 July.There is insufficient electronic exchange of information in the public sector. The financing of ICT measures across departmental boundaries is poor, and the goals in this area are not being achieved.

On 10 June, the Office of the Auditor General presented two new reports: On the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development’s handling and follow-up of the Vik letter/Terra affair, and about the preservation and protection of the collections of four public museums.

On Tuesday, 22 April, the Office of the Auditor General presented three reports: about ICT in hospitals and electronic cooperation in the health service, about the help available to the disadvantaged on the housing market and about the exercising of authority for reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions.

The OAG’s audit report on the Central Government Financial Statements for 2006 – Document no. 1 (2007-2008) – was submitted to the Storting on 16 October 2007. The document contains the OAG’s comments on the ministries’ management and implementation of their budgets and the cabinet ministers’ management of state ownership interests in companies. Material weaknesses have been found in the accounts of nineteen agencies. This is less than in the previous year.

"Strategic trajectories for improving the effectiveness of performance auditing" was the title of an international seminar held in Oslo 23-25 May 2007. Documentation from the seminar is now available.

On 1 June the Office of the Auditor General submitted three new documents to the Storting. One of the reports is translated into English. |
