Nordic cooperation

The Nordic countries, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, the Faroe Islands and Norway, have a well-established multilateral cooperation.

The vision for the Nordic cooperation between SAIs is: To exchange competence and experience for the development of our institutions.

The Nordic SAIs collaborate in five different formal forums:

1. The Auditor Generals of the six countries meet annually to discuss cases of mutual interest.

2. Contact persons from each country have annual meetings in advance of the Auditor General meeting.

3. Annual Nordic Seminars where key personnel meet to discuss different themes concerning Financial Audit, Performance Audit or Human Resources.

4. Secondment opportunities are developed in the different Nordic Countries. The Office of the Auditor General of Norway has had secondees in the SAIs of Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

The Nordic SAIs have also established a formal cooperation with the Baltic Countries and Poland, and there is annually a Nordic-Baltic meeting.
