The Office of the Auditor General's investigation into the operational capability of the Frigate Branch

The Office of the Auditor General has conducted an investigation to assess whether the Norwegian Armed Forces have established a Frigate Branch as anticipated by the Storting. The aim of the investigation was to shed light on the causes of any weaknesses and deficiencies, and the resultant implications for operational capability.

The investigation covered topics including technical condition, access to spare parts, maintenance, manning and competence, as well as the administration of the sector carried out by the Ministry of Defence and the Norwegian Armed Forces.

"We believe that the investigation will prove to be useful for the Storting when it considers the long-term plan for the Norwegian Armed Forces in the near future", said National Auditor Per-Kristian Foss.

The Office of the Auditor General's investigation into the operational capability of the Frigate Branch, Document 3:13 (2015–2016), was submitted to the Storting on 14 June.

The document is classified under Sections 11 and 12 of the Security Act (see Section 13 of the Freedom of Information Act).
