Summary

The Office of the Auditor General normally follows up performance audits three years after they have been considered by the Storting. If the necessary improvements have not been implemented after three years, the matter will be followed up again the following year.

Document 3:1 (2012–2013) describes the follow-up of 14 performance audits. Twelve cases have been concluded and two cases will be followed up further:

  • The Office of the Auditor General’s investigation of the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service’s administration of the car benefit scheme – Document No 3:6 (2006-2007)
  • The Office of the Auditor General’s investigation into the exercising of authority with a view to reducing nitrogen oxide emissions – Document No. 3:9 (2007–2008)

The Office of the Auditor General’s investigation of the Ministry of Defence’s administrative practice and the traceability of advice on policy, Document No. 3:9 (2006–2007), has been followed up in a separate investigation.
